Just to put LeBron James 2012-13 NBA season in perspective

LeBron James’s averages through the 10 worst games of 2012-13: 19.3 pts, 8.7 reb, 5.2 assts.

Do you think LeBron should be named the NBA 2012-13 regular season MVP?

During last nights Cleveland / Miami game a Cavaliers fan ran onto the court wearing a shirt that said “We Miss You, 2014 Come Back.”
The fan made his way up to LeBron, seemed to say something to him and, after he was apprehended and dragged away, LeBron patted him on the head.

Mar. 18, 2008 - The Boston Celtics ended the Houston Rockets’ 22-game winning streak with 94-74 win

Before the Rockets 94-74 loss to the Celtics (Kevin Garnett scored 22 points and Paul Pierce added 20), Houston had a team-high 22-game win streak. Houston’s streak was also the second-longest in NBA history; longest was the Los Angeles Lakers 33-game win streak that went from November 5th, 1971 to January 7th, 1972.

After Boston beat the Rockets, Tracy McGrady said this about the Celtics: “It’s a hell of a team over there. They outplayed us. I’ve never seen a defense like that. I mean, if they play defense like that, night in and night out, the NBA is in trouble because that was defense at its finest.”

Tonight the Miami Heat will go to Boston looking to extend their wnning streak to 23 games, and take sole possession of the 2nd longest streak in league history.

Do you think the Celtics will end Miami’s 22 game win streak like they did the Rockets? Can lightning strike twice? Will history repeat itself? Or will Miami beat the Celtics and extend their win streak to 23 games?

During the play LeBron took a terrible fall as he attempted to catch and dunk a half-court alley-oop pass from Dwyane Wade. He got up slow, shook his leg off and then went on to dominate the game. The picture and video show his incredible vertical leap and athletic abilities.

2012 Sports Illustrated’s Sportsman of the Year: LeBron James

Regardless of what went down in 2010 with his announcement to play for Miami, this is a well deserved honor for James who won his first NBA Championship Ring and grabbed a Gold Medal in the Summer Olympics.

Dec. 14, 1988 - The NBA’s Miami Heat won their first game

The Miami Heat played their first NBA season in 1988-89, and like most expansion franchises, they were pretty bad. Led by a collection of has-beens and never-weres, the Heat lost their first-ever game to the Los Angeles Clippers on November 5, 1988, then went on to drop their next sixteen straight. The first win in franchise history came against those same Clippers on December 14th, by a score of 89-88.

Miami finished their inaugural season with a record of 15-67.
